QC Leisure have released the following statement regarding Friday's High Court judgement in the Premier League case

We at QC Leisure are extremely pleased with the judgment of Lord Justice Kitchin today, which confirms that the majority of claims are to be dismissed.

In accordance with the judgement of the ECJ, Lord Justice Kitchin ruled that claims made against us relating to the right of QC Leisure to deal in foreign satellite decoder cards and these cards being illicit devices were to be dismissed.

Whilst the judgment provides that there was infringement of copyright in certain artistic works and graphics Lord Justice Kitchin specifically stated that “the defendants who are continuing to trade must be entitled to carry on their businesses in a way which avoids infringement of FAPL's copyrights if they are able to do so”.

QC Leisure has previously asked its customers to mute the sound while the Premier League Anthem is playing to avoid any infringement in this work and shall re-emphasis this to all customers.

QC Leisure is committed to providing a service to its customers and fully intends to continue to do so without infringing any intellectual property rights of the FAPL.
